My name is Joana and I was born and raised in Miami, FL. Now I currently live in Fort Myers, FL. I have 4 beautiful children, one of whom is resting for now, whom I adore and a loving, supporting husband of 12 years now, 2021. I have been doing my hair since I was 14 years old thanks to my mom who taught me how to braid at the age of 12, but didn't know anything about my hair growing up.

I'd always thought that African American hair did not grow pass a certain length so I didn't really care about maintaining the health of my hair. I just stuck to the regimen that I grew up on which was JUST shampooing, adding hair grease to my scalp and hair strands, and using a wide tooth comb, sectioning your hair, and remoisturizing your hair with water is a GOOD thing and not a bad thing and it won't make you sick, lol (Haitian parents) and the list goes on.. I ended up with a bald spot and brittle hair at the age of 15 and my hair trials continued.

My cousin had to do certain styles that would cover up the spot which was not easy at all. Fast-forward, when I was pregnant with my first daughter I was determined to know how to grow our kinky hair. There were lots of trials and errors with my daughter and there were stunt growths, lots of baby hair products that just didn't agree with her hair, and breakage and I wanted to give up. My sister in law discovered the YouTube world in 2011 and so our natural hair journey began. Lots of oil blends, hair products, and YouTube videos but still didn't really know how to take care of OUR hair. At the time, I was doing mini braids with my natural hair and I would notice massive hair growth after a month of just leaving my hair alone. Still didn't know how to stop my hair from breakage whenever I didn't have my braids in.

After doing research and watching more YouTube videos, I concocted my own shea butter mix and oil. After so many years , I eventually perfected it and that is what I have been using for almost 10 years now. Never had it in mind to sell them but moving to southwest Florida, people were asking me about about how I grew my hair and they said that they would buy my oil and butter from me. So that is how I got started with this amazing hair products.

So there is potential for our Organic kinks to grow! Just find a regimen that makes your hair manageable and soft and feels great then stick with it!
And CONSISTENCY IS KEY!
